I am thinking of increasing the server RAM from 2G to 4G but not sure if that's the permanent solution. They can be left for days for that matter. Have attached the screenshot of the latest run where after running the 8 instances, last 2 froze. But if few clients are heavy in memory, same thing happens. Then found out that RAM (2G) was being overused, hence increased swapping memory from 0 to 1G. Here sometimes it went fine but sometimes last instance froze. Then batched the script, means if there are 20 input clients, ran 5 instances (4*5=20) of script.
Debugged & profiled and found that its not the script that's causing issue, but its the system. Then found out that sometimes, script froze during run (or basically its in "comatose state"). Hence optimized it with ThreadPoolExecutor (max_workers=10) so that script can run on 4 clients concurrently (almost). Originally script took around 2 mins to complete, with 300 MB RES & 1000 MB VM (as per htop), for 1 client. And in one of the projects, I have a very resource intensive python script (which fetches data for Facebook ads), to be run on all those clients (say 500+ in number) in ubuntu 16.04 server. Once the packages are moved from xenial-proposed to the main repository, you can sudo rm /etc/apt//ubuntu-proposed.list /etc/apt/preferences.I work for a digital marketing agency having multiple clients.

I understand I can get a free install of Windows 10 through the Edge browser testing link here. Debian even dropped V-box temporarily from its repo because of the lack of responsibility of oracle updating the code. So I have this small project I need to do in Visual Studio, and all I have to do it on is this old machine running Ubuntu 16.04.

Not to mention they currently have some killer security holes known right now, and oracle has yet to update them after some time. Oracle is not updating it as often, and the performance gains of KVM is starting to take a pretty far leap ahead in performance where it no longer makes sense to use V-Box, other than the awesome GUI. A lot of people mentioned this problem on Stack Exchange and the Ubuntu forums, but not many of them managed to solve this ridiculous problem. Never-the-less, i would recommend KVM instead of V-Box. That might be a good place to look also if you believe it was the issue. There are also log files that are generated within Virtual box that contains information regarding BOTH the host and the vm. If your certain it was virtual box, you can search for that and see if you can dig any more information on it. I would start by using Grep to search /var/log/kern.log and /var/log/messages. I am receiving an error message while trying to load Aptana Studio 3 in an ubuntu 16.04 LTS installation.
